Diversity in Volunteering: Using the Law to Support Best Practice

About this event

Fostering a diverse and inclusive volunteer workforce is a priority for many not-for-profit organisations. As lawyers, we see some tricky issues arise around discrimination, safety, screening and privacy law when organisations seek to embed diversity in their volunteer recruitment plan. Our challenge then is to use the law to support diversity.

In this webinar, we’ll use practical case studies to highlight the kinds of legal issues your organisation needs to consider to confidently build and grow a diverse and strong volunteer workforce.

We'll cover:

  • A short, sharp overview of four key legal issues for a diverse volunteer team - discrimination, safety, screening, and privacy
  • Case studies - applying the law to manage risk and embrace diversity
  • Top tips on balancing your legal obligations to make volunteering more inclusive

You'll receive:

  • 75 minutes of plain-language training from a lawyer
  • Copy of webinar recording (accessible for 3 months) and slide presentation
  • Information on further resources and support
