NOT-FOR-PROFIT LAW HAS MADE A SUBMISSION TO THE A.C.T RED TAPE REDUCTION AMENDMENT BILL 2017

Not-for-profit Law submission to ACT Government suggests some changes to the Bill, which seeks to amend theAssociations Incorporation Act 1991 and the Charitable Collections Act 2003 to exempt charities registered with the ACNC from certain regulatory requirements in the ACT that are covered by Commonwealth regulation. The proposed changes seek to address duplication between the Commonwealth and ACT regulations, reduce administrative burden for charities and provide clarity on regulatory responsibilities for both the charities and the community. Our submission also identifies further opportunities for streamlining regulation of incorporated associations and charitable collections.
